NYC cabs

I was getting a ride to school the other day in a cab and my driver cut some dude off, which is kind of what cabs do. they cut people off and ur mad, u mumble to yourself "i hate 'f'ing cabs" or something then move on... not today. this guy decided to get back at the cab by hurrying up and going around us, the only trouble was that there was a nice new Lexus in front of him that he would have seen if he wasnt looking at my cab driver. whoops. so i watched an accident happen right next to me from the back seat of my cab.

#2 getting cut off while in a cab. lucky for me, the guy that cut us off was making the same turns as where i was going, so after speeding down the road and cutting each other off for awhile, we finally came side to side with the other car (one of those unmarked taxis), where they could yell at each other w/ those indian accents which i always find amusing, and threaten to pull over somewhere and meet up for some fight. they both agreed to fight somewhere, but then drove off. empty fight promises, lame.

#3 I got off the bus, was walking to school and on my way there i see two guys in the middle of the road yelling at each other face to face, sure enough one guy was a taxi driver, the other guy was driving an suv and yup, they were indian. always amusing, I love those accents, especially when they are angry.

Im pretty sure that i would be pissed if i came to america to find a good job and ended up as an nyc cab driver as well.

Im in love

so i moved.  Ive been happy for the past two years sharing a one bedroom apartment w/ two other guys.  We each payed $1000/month rent, so $3000 total.  I had no closet and no shelves in my room.  all of my stuff hang on a couple of poles at the foot of the bed or sat in a couple of drawers under them.  so, in essence, i just threw crap whever there wasnt already crap until all of that space was taken, then piles.

So now where the love comes in.  I have a new apartment.  Frigging GINOURMOUS!!!  well, by NYC standards anyways.  i have my own large bedroom, 3 awesome roommates (not that the others weren't awesome) and my new place is CHEAPER! $925/month.  so... Im in love w/ life.  I didn't even know how bad my life sucked until now.  i have a closet, places to put my stuff, and my room stays clean! well, clean by my standards.  My apartment is in a sweet part of town too. On my way to school yesterday, spencer and i walked by the filming of the new twilight movie and saw the fro dude main guy.  a couple days ago on the way home i saw peeps making a new nicholas cage movie.  I dont really care about that, but i just thought it was a good addition.  anywho...

I got in a fight

So, I was playing basketball in a semifinal playoff game for an NYC basketball league. We were down 12 at half, then we started kicking the other teams butt, I was playing really well. So some guy grabbed my privates for a couple seconds while I was getting a rebound. I wasn't really happy w/ him. So I kneed his privates. Then beat them by 10 to go to the finals. After the game I went to shake his hand (dont shake hands w/ ball grabbers) and he punched me in the face, which turned me around, then he punched me in the face from behind. I turned around and jumped at him for some action and got held back by a few people and he ran off. So good times. Now I'm icing my jaw and have a cut lip from my braces.

Anyways, I always wondered what it would feel like to get some nice punches to the face, now I now. It wasn't so bad.

The guy that punched me in the face got a pretty sweet oop dunk off an inbound pass, and was a pretty good baller.

So I was wondering: Do I let someone get away w/ a ball grab and do nothing? or do I retaliate? Did I do wrong? What would you have done?

Even the guys on the other team were on my side.

a date

So I went out on a date the other night, and was amused to find myself speaking much deeper than I normally do. I thought to myself 'why am I speaking so deep, I didn't think I could speak this low, is this my "I'm trying to impress someone" voice or what' So anyways, I'm sure my date was very impressed w/ my deep voice cause she wants to go out again. I sure hope she doesn't know about this blog.

study break

So I was just studying and it reminded me of one of the scariest moments of my life. I was about 11 years old and my niece Tiffany was about 4. We were in the backyard and I was pushing her around in her new car, similar to the one in the photo here, and while making a right turn she flew out and started crying. Not too big a deal right? So I brought her inside, then she stopped crying and started shaking on the ground expressionless w/ her eyes open for what seemed like forever. I was like what the crap did I do to this girl. Apparently she had seizures every once in awhile. Her mom came in and knew what to do, which if I remember correctly was nothing, just wait it out.

Anyways, good times.

not studying

Something I've noticed: Things that normally are not very fun, become surprisingly entertaining when I'm supposed to be studying.

Part 2. Crazy New York guy

I was leaving the dental clinic and noticed that a creepy crazy guy was following me. I noticed because he was staring at me and following very closely. So I stopped walking, turned around and looked at him. He stopped, and looked the other way. So I continued walking. Shortly thereafter, he hurried behind me again. So I continued walking, then stopped, turned, he stopped, looked the other way again. Kept walking, then he hurried to get behind me again. So I stopped, looked at him, he just stood there and looked at me, then I punched him in the face.

K I didn't punch him in the face, but I decided I wanted some gum from the store behind him, so I walked toward the store, he kept getting in my way, like trying to prevent me from getting around him, so I said "I'm trying to get to that store behind you" so he let me get by. Then he followed me in. Then I stood in line to get some gum. He stood in line and walked into me like 4 times walking back and forth. I dont know if he was trying to get my wallet or was just retarded, but he didn't get my wallet.

Part 3

I got to buy $300 worth of stocking stuffer candy and treats for 117 poor kids last weekend. Good times. Shopping carts are very small here, like 1/4 the size of normal carts. $300 worth of stocking stuffer stuff is about 2 feet taller that this cart. So stuff fell out often. Also, you cant bring your cart outside. So the handy bagger knew how to tie bags together so that I could carry the 12 bags of goodies out of the store. Then I had to carry them to the street, where no freaking cab would come. Then I carried the 12 bags to the other street where a cab picked me up. while in the cab, the driver slammed on the breaks and my face slammed into credit card swiper on the glass inbetween the front and back seats giving me a nice scab on my nose.

Writing this blog is one of those things that is much more enjoyable when I'm supposed to be studying.

Wow

I just read my friends blog. He is very smart and is talking about politics and what not, like endless well thought out info and discussion on his viewpoints and the opinions of other high falluten what nots. Anyways, then I read my blog. ha. cereal, doggy doo doo. Obviously the things I think about aren't well... what you'd call... important.

Well its nice to know that there are good people out there that worry about important stuff and try to take care of the world for us slackers.

Magically Delicious? I dont think so.

No Sir. It only took me 27 years to figure this one out. Magic isn't even in the ingredients. But sugar is, and thats not magical at all. Thats the same reason why most things are delicious.

I just thought this needed to come out into the open.

P.S. I also eat trix, and I'm 27. Lucky for me some kids dont try and steal my cereal and say "Silly Randy, Trix are for kids" Because I'd beat them up. That would actually be pretty freaky. Hmmm, I think I have a movie idea coming on.

Cereal is so good.

DONT LAUGH!

So the other day I was walking home and there was a lady picking up her dogs doo doo using the 'hand in the inside out plastic baggy' technique. Some little kids were watching and found what she was doing to be quite strange and funny. The kids were walking by, then stopped to point and laugh at the woman bent over to pick up the dog poo. This upset the lady who felt it was important to take this opportunity to teach these kids why she was picking up dog poo. She responded by yelling at them. Yelling!?. She yelled "Dont laugh... you need to pick up your dogs... " I dont remember what all she said but I found her yelling at random laughing kids to be quite hillarious.

scariest/awesomest moment

So... on my way home from Utah, my plane was delayed due to a thunderstorm. After an hour or so of waiting the pilot was given the go ahead to take off. We took off and HOLY CRAP... Lightning everywhere!!! I had a window seat so I could see clearly. The lightning came continuously and I had a perfect view of all of it. I timed to see how long it would go without lightning, and there was never more than 2 seconds.

Anyways, while on the way up a big light looked like it went right on us and all of the TVs turned off and the plane dropped for what seemed forever, but was probably only like 2-3 seconds... one of the scariest moments of my life.

So I spent the next little while peeking out the window and checking out my beautiful view of the lightning. I have never had such an incredible view of it, I felt like I was right inside of the storm. I could see all of the lightning strikes from top to bottom. We were flying over salt lake and each flash of light reflected over the lake so it went from a view of nothing, to being able to see the details of the lake and it was espectacular (as would be said by me to the Spanish speakers, I think saying it in Spanish emphasizes it for some reason).

Anyways... scary/awesome

so

I write in my journal every night, which is actually quite therapeutic. I can let all of my emotions out onto something that no one will ever read, without embarrassing myself. I imagine that blogging about such things would be embarrassing because whenever I go back and read in my journal, I always find that I say the stupidest things... it always cracks me up though.

So, what to blog about then? Girls? no, that would be gay. well, not gay in the sense of... you know.

Political incorrectness? no, that would be retarded.

Dental school drama? Boring.

Things I've learned: Girls are not to be understood. they are to be...?

Curiosity

so, I've read other peoples blogs and wondered, what would I write on the internet where there is the chance for millions of people to read what I write, yet nobody ever would. Well now I know. this.
